This collection consists of one oral history interview (see description which follows) and one folder of materials collected by White including reports, correspondence, and newsletters relating to his work in Austria as missionary with Greater Europe Mission.
Donald E. White was interviewed by Robert Shuster on January 29, 1996, at the Archives of the Billy Graham Center. The events described in the interview cover the time period 1934-1988.

Family background, conversion at age eight, parents' conversion and church involvement, mother's long term illness, called to missions at age twelve, interest in music and later missions, memories of education at Moody Bible Institute, meeting future wife, education at Wheaton College as a part-time student, Army service in Germany, duties as an assistant chaplain, meeting Christians from the US with different lifestyle, attending Youth For Christ rallies in Frankfort, desire to work as a missionary in Germany, changing his field to Austria while attending candidate school, needs of the Austrian people, differences between Germans and Austrians, typical Army chapel services, returning to Wheaton College to finish his education, joining Greater Europe Mission, experiences during missionary internship and deputation, attending language school, assisting in the work at Weiner Neustadt, starting a Bible study, tract ministry, importance of spreading the Word, his main ministry of church planting, importance of building relationships with Austrians, beginning working in Baden, problems with some attending the Bible study, his biblical view of how to build a church, reasons for high attrition rate of missionaries to Austria, methods used to reach Austrians, activities of the church he started, problems in the church while on furlough
