Biography
Baptist minister and champion of religious liberty during the Revolutionary War era. Born, 1724. Died, 1806.
Scope and Content
Microfilm copy of Baptist preacher and historian Backus' diaries, autobiography, day-book, sermons on Acts and the Psalms, correspondence, letters from mother Elizabeth Backus, and other materials. Originals were filmed by the Historical Commission of the Southern Baptist Church.
Provenance
The materials for this collection were received by the Center in May 1986 from the Billy Graham Center Library.
