"I've Been to the MOUNTAINTOP..." evangelistic tract
(featuring Martin Luther King, Jr.)

The six-panel tract above, ca. 1970s, comes from the soon-to-be-opened Collection 362, the Records of Voice of Calvary Ministries or VOCM. (Voice of Calvary was founded by John Perkins in rural Mississippi in 1960 and has been headquartered since the early 1970s in urban Jackson, the state capital. VOCM is a Black run agency which emphasizes evangelism in a context of wholistic community development, economic redistribution, and racial reconciliation.) Using as a starting point the famous line from the speech that Martin Luther King, Jr., gave in Memphis the night before he was assasinated in 1968, this homemade duplicated tract invites its readers to accept God's offer of the unearned life of true justice and right under His reign in heaven.
