The following chronology is mainly concerned with the dates of evangelistic meetings led by Billy Graham or the associate evangelists of the BGEA, but some other events from Rev. Graham's life and the history of the BGEA are also included. Please note that this chronology is only partial and does not include all BGEA events.

For each event the chronology includes at least the year of the event and a brief description in the "Event" column. There is also usually the location and dates of the event and, if appropriate and available, the numbers of BGC Archives collections with information about the event, the o verall attendance, and the number of inquirers, that is the number of people who came forward at the end of the meeting to give their lives to Christ or to reaffirm their faith. The attendance and inquiry figures were taken from press releases, statistical reports or similar documents prepared by the BGEA.

For each event, the main BGEA staff person involved (if not obvious from the text) is indicated by the initials in parentheses at the end of the text. For example, the entry for 1966 "Mott Haven Reformed Church (RB)" means Ralph Bell was the speaker for the meeting at the Mott Haven Reformed Church. As mentioned, the numbers in the "Collection" column are the numbers of collections with information on a particular event. For example, the chronology indicates that collections SC90, 1, 17, 74, 141, and 360 contain information about the 1950 Columbia Crusade. To see the guide to a particular collection, click on the underlined collection number. (Any collections with "SC" in the title is a small collection consisting of one or two folders. Thus, "SC16" is Small Collection 16.)

Searching the Chronology for Events
Exactly how you do your search will depend on what type of browser you are using. Most browsers allow you to do a particular word search in the the web page on your screen. For example, here is the procedure if you are using the Netscape browser: you would go to the main menu bar at the top of the page and pull down the menu for "Edit." On that menu you would select the option "Find in page" and you would then get a dialog box which allows you to find all the places where a particular word appears on the page. (Holding down the keys for Control" and "F" would also bring up the dialog box.) Other browsers have different procedures for the same general result.

NOTE: This chronology is regularly updated to incorporate past BGEA crusades or events documented in newly available Archives collections, as well as recent BGEA events.
