| With the new 3rd and 4th floor storage areas added in 2006-2007, new collecting possibilities opened up for the Archives. During the coming year we intend to formulate a reinvigorated collecting plan (not to fill the room as quickly as possible) to strategically extend and enrich the collection. |
As we step into this new year, here are some of the projects we're going to focus on... ...Developing an acquisition plan to strategically expand the collection during the next decade. ...Continuing the ongoing archival task of arranging and describing accessions into new or updated collections to make them available for researchers in the Manuscript Reading Room, and at least by description, on the Archives Web site. ...Digitizing films and audio tapes to maintain the regular transfer of these materials into their new format, also gaining further experience in rescuing these materials from being lost along with extinct technologies. ...Investigating ways to make our collections more available, such as developing an online image database. |
