The collections and computers covering the table represent a major part of our work in the upcoming year. By rolling your cursor over the panel above, you will find depicted the object of our work with aging documents and always changing technology: the people who use our collections. Our desire is to welcome and assist them to "remember these things" in order to live faithfully and wisely in the present and plan for the future. Our hope is that this research will contribute to the spread of the gospel.

In the past year we saw the completion of two large infrastructure changes: the renovation of the Manuscripts Reading Room and the addition of more storage space on the 3rd floor. We now set our sights on developing new outreach progams to stimulate continued and new uses of the Archives, processing collections, and expanding the portion of our collection that is also available in a digitized form. Among the project we hope to tackle in the coming year are...

...Ongoing arrangement and description of new materials into new or updated collections, among these the Cliff Barrows papers and BGEA photographs, a large addition to the MAF records, and several oral history indexes and transcripts.

...Relocating a portion of the unprocessed materials to the 3rd floor storage area.

...Developing an acquisition plan for the next ten years.

...Continuing to digitize a number of films and audio tapes as part of a project to regularly transfer audio and visual materials into an digital format.

...Experimenting with programs we now have the capacity to offer in the new Archival Seminar Room (shared with the College's Archives & Special Collections).

...Exploring along with Archives & Special Collections several automated archival management and collection description software resources.
