The Reading Room

Local home schooled students who participated in Archival Treasure Hunt in the Reading Room on October 31, In the center of the group is Robert Carlson, who described growing up as a missionary kid in Tibet.

"I am writing to thank you and the staff of the Billy Graham Center Archives for all your kindness and assistance facilitating my research on the Good Will Caravans and one of their key sponsor organizations, the Latin America Mission. I found the archives very user-friendly: the on-line database is excellent and helped me to accurately forecast the amount of time I needed to work, the surroundings were comfortable and great for a laptop user like myself, and everyone made me feel right at home. Paul Ericksen, the archivist for the GWC accessions, was very knowledgeable about the holdings. I am grateful to him for helping me to identify materials still "in-process" that I hope to research in the future. Wayne Weber was also helpful to me on a daily basis as I raced to get through the materials, and helping to problem-solve as questions arose. Again, I thank you and the staff for making my stay at Wheaton productive and successful. I hope to see you in the future as the research moves forward." From June, 2002 letter by Dr. Gwynne Jenkins of the University of Kansas
