specifically on the teaching of English pronunciation.

The applied theory section provides an in-depth study of the sound
system of English. Emphasis is placed on the understanding of
language as a system of rules and as a network of interrelated
parts. The relevance of each topic to the teaching of English
as a second or foreign language is discussed and illustrated.
The practicum deals with procedures, materials, and techniques
for teaching English pronunciation to native speakers of other
