New Student Checklist

Before you arrive on campus, here are a few things you need to do to ensure a smooth transition.


  1. Set up your network account by following the instructions here.

  2. Decide what computer you will bring, and buy one if necessary. There are labs available on campus for your use, but bringing a personal computer is highly recommended.

  3. Make sure your computer has all software and security updates, and configure it to automatically update. If you have Windows 8.1 or newer or Mac OSX, your computer already comes with virus protection. Otherwise, you will need install an anti-virus program before connecting your computer to our network.

  4. Visit the computer registration website in order to:

    • agree to our Acceptable Use Policy
    • set up your security questions
    • download and install the Bradford Persistent Agent (allows your computer to connect to the Wheaton College Network)
