The Artist Series at Wheaton College serves the campus family and surrounding communities by presenting some of the world’s most gifted artists for the purpose of exploring, enjoying and celebrating God’s creative gifts.

Magic time. That’s what artists call the brief interlude between the lights going down in the theater and coming up on the stage. You can hear the silence as the entire audience holds its breath in anticipation and excitement. Anything can happen – and then something does.

We love that time. You think you know what’s coming – a string quartet, a pianist, a vocalist or a symphony orchestra – but this is live performance, so even if you’re familiar with the artist, there’s still the very real possibility that they’ll surprise you with something new, something both familiar and unexpected. That’s Season 60 at the Artist Series.

After fifty-nine years of bringing great performers, primarily classical, to the western suburbs, the Artist Series is more exciting than ever. Our world is growing. Without slighting the great European classical tradition, we want to honor the cultural richness and diversity of our community by bringing in artists who connect us to the bigger world, and with the best seats in the house going for $53, the Artist Series is accessible to everyone. We always say Great Music, Great Value, Close to Home, and we’ve never been more committed to keeping tickets affordable than we are now.

Such substantial programming would not be possible without the generous support of our Partners in the Arts, the Illinois Arts Council, and individual donations from the members of the Artist Series Guild. It is their commitment to supporting the arts in this community, along with everyone’s ticket purchases, that allows us to keep the Artist Series affordable.
