During the past 30 years, evangelical Protestants have taken a markedly increased interest in what is broadly called “spiritual formation.” Our particular goal in this conference is to enrich the contemporary Protestant theological discussion of the Christian spiritual life, particularly by asking: “What does spiritual formation look like theologically?” We will explore the biblical, theological and historical dimensions of spiritual formation with an eye toward the life and ministry of the local church.
