and practical aspects of ESL/EFL testing, including (a)
survey of test types and (b) procedures for test planning,
construction, administration and interpretation of results.

INTR 619. Teaching Speaking and Listening to ESL/EFL Learners. A seminar focusing on in-depth discussion
of issues related to oral communication and
practical demonstration of methods for teaching
speaking and listening. Includes communication
in both social and academic/ professional
contexts. (2)
Students must take either INTR 618
OR another approved TESOL elective.

INTR 618. Teaching ESL to Children, K-12.
A specialized course for teachers of English to children in public and private schools, both in the U.S. and abroad. Emphases include child language development, literacy, teaching methodology and issues such as bilingual education and immigration policy. (2)
