The purpose of health insurance is to help you pay for the ever rising costs of health care. It protects you financially in the event of any unexpected serious illness or injury that may be extremely expensive. Moreover, health insurance allows you to seek out preventive and routine care so that you can avoid certain illnesses. There should never be a gap in your health insurance for greater than 31 days. A gap that is greater than this may delay prompt health insurance coverage at another job and therefore, needed care.
