Rodney Sisco, Director

RodneyOriginally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Rodney '84 has consistently provided leadership in Wheaton's developing diverse community. He has helped to develop the greater than 80% retention rate of students of color at Wheaton and the recruitment of students, faculty, and administration throughout his greater than 25 years of ministry. He has served on the Racial Harmony Commission of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities; on the Board of the National Christian Multicultural Student Leaders Conference Inc.; on the Diversity Task Force of the Association of Christians in Student Development; and is a recipient of the latter's Jane Higa Award for Racial Harmony.  Rodney and his wife Hasana '86 have two children and share a passion for Christ, music and encouraging others to rejoice in the Lord.

Eva Ortiz, Assistant Director

EvaEva is committed to utilizing her God–given gifts to encourage, empower, and challenge students to excel throughout their Wheaton experience by celebrating their “uniqueness” and maximizing their individual opportunities for communal growth.

 

Tanya Egler, Gospel Choir Director 

TanyaTanya Egler has enjoyed the opportunity to serve as the Director of the Wheaton College Gospel Choir for 20 years. She is a native of Cleveland, Ohio where she grew up in a singing family that fostered her love for God and music. Tanya earned a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Kent State University. She and her husband Calvin '95 are co-founders of Passion Ministries. They are blessed to have three young adult children who love and serve God.

 

 

Hee-Jung Kim, Office Coordinator 

Hee-Jung joined the Office of Multicultural Development in December 2013 as the  Office Coordinator. As a former international student herself she understands the important role the Office of Multicultural Development may have in helping minority students become acclimated to Wheaton College.

She has enjoyed not only connecting with students and staff members but also helping them to reach their visions and goals. In her free time, she loves nature walking, gardening, doing DIY projects, traveling with her family, and cooking Korean foods.”

Rebecca Gist, Graduate Resident Assistant

Rebecca GistRebecca is honored to join the OMD as the Graduate Resident Assistant. Originally from California, she is excited to embrace life and weather in the Midwest. She completed undergrad at Westmont College and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Christian Formation and Ministry. Her hobbies include exploring the great outdoors, crafting, baking, and conversing. She is grateful for the opportunities she has had to travel and experience various cultures. Rebecca has a passion for developing students and building relationships with individuals on the margins of society.
