Hi! My name is Jake Portugal and I am a senior majoring in Communication with an emphasis in Rhetoric. I was born and raised in San Diego, CA where I transferred from the local Community College to Wheaton in the Fall of 2012. Here at Wheaton, I spend most of my time with friends, meeting new people, studying, and playing baseball. My favorite spot on campus is anywhere with grass because I love to play any kind of yard game: corn hole, kan jam, horse shoes, ladder ball, etc. This coming year, I am especially looking forward to building new relationships within the Transfer Orientation Committee and to make one last run at a Championship with my brothers on the baseball team. I encourage students coming to Wheaton to step outside your comfort zone and try something new, get to know people you usually wouldn't associate with.  Ultimately, I pray that everyone's experience at Wheaton is centered around being accepted by God through the death and resurrection of His Beloved Son and that we may exist to know Jesus Christ and make Him known.
