Why JustCo? I chose to apply to be on the cabinet because I wanted to make a difference. I want to address the injustce I see on campus, in Chicago, back at home, and around the world. There is a lot of suffering in the world, but thanks to Jesus, we have hope. As a member of the Justice Coalition, I want to play a small part in spreading that hope and bringing God's message of love and justice to the world.
Why Wheaton? I liked the idea of a small private Christian college.
Favorite place you’ve traveled? Osaka, Japan
Describe Wheaton in three words: Christ-centered learning
Most memorable experience at Wheaton: Passage, freshman year. I flew into O'hare not knowing what to expect. I got on a bus full of strangers. The bus got lost and after ten hours on the road none of us were strangers anymore. It was great!
What makes Wheaton Unique? Unlike any secular college or university, the student body at Wheaton shares one thing: faith in Jesus Christ. We are from all sorts of nations, ethnic groups, languages, and traditions, but we all have Christ as our risen Lord. This faith in Jesus gives us unity in our diversity. We celebrate that we have different career goals, different ways of thinking, and different interests, but we are glad to share the common goal of living our lives for Christ.
Favorite CU or campus event: The Square Dance
What does justice mean to you? To me, justice means living out Matthew 25: 35-36 where Jesus tells the saints: "'For I was hungry, and you gave me food, I was thirsty, and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.'" If we treat everyone the way we would treat Jesus, we are doing the kind of justice God expects of us.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? I see myself in residency somewhere in California with one year left. I hope to be married with at least one child. I will be trying either to get on the mission field or set up a pediatric practice at home.
