Graduation year: 2016
Hometown: Garden Valley, TX
Position on CU: Concerts Manager
Why CU? I love the mission of CU. Additionally, I love music and the beautiful bond it forges between people. We get so caught up in the seriousness of academia and can forget that we are young and need to dance and laugh. Being part of a crew that provides venues for this community to come together and laugh and enjoy the company of one another is an incredible mission to be a part of. After all, God created us to enjoy the gift of community and sometimes we need the Roller Disco to do so.
About Me: I grew up in rural Texas among cows and large grassy fields. I have four brothers and two sisters and a mother and a father that I adore more than life. As a family we love to eat and to travel. After Wheaton, I hope to move to Austin, own a huge dog, have adventures, and work on a start-up for a few years before attending graduate school.
What’s your favorite place on campus to connect with friends? The front porch of Williston.
How would you describe the dinner hour in Anderson Commons to someone outside of the Wheaton Community? All the animals were let out of the Chicago Zoo and are roaming free and ravenous - that’s dinner at Anderson Commons.
Favorite CU event and why? The big concerts of course! I love nothing more than listening to live music with my friends.
How has the community at Wheaton impacted you? The Wheaton community has taught me that I am not alone. My friends have walked with me through the high times and through the low times. I have also learned that living in community is a beautiful and good gift from God. It is not supposed to be easy but it always meant to be edifying.
