Telephone Instructions
To telephone someone in an office on campus dial only the last four digits of the phone number.
To telephone someone off campus but local (within 15 miles of campus):
Dial "9" to get an outside line. Then dial the 1-800 number in the upper left hand back corner. You will be asked to press several numbers on the key pad of your phone, including the number of the card, which is under the silver strip on the back of the card. Gently rub this silver off using the edge of a coin before you begin dialing.
To make a long distance call (more than 15 miles from campus):
Follow the instructions above.
To make an international call:
Dial "9" to get an outside line. Then dial "011", then the country code and telephone number. (You will need a larger denomination calling card, which can be purchased at the Graduate/International Student Services office.)
College Post Office
Each student is allocated a College Post Office Box (CPO). Students are required to check their mail at least once a week. All student addresses must show box number and name. Graduate students are assigned box numbers and issued a combination at the mail room in the Commons of the Graduate School, 2nd floor Billy Graham Center.
When students leave for a period of three weeks or more, a forwarding address form must be completed. Students are responsible for change of address for magazines, newspapers, and bulk mail. Only first class mail is forwarded.
Services:
The Main Campus Post Office is located on the lower level in the Beamer Center It provides mail and window service similar to the local post office except the insuring of mail. UPS packages can also be processed and shipped from the Main CPO window. No CODs are accepted.
If medicine is being sent to you that must be refrigerated, please have it sent during the week, NOT the weekend, and include on the package, in Large Letters, REFRIGERATE. We cannot be responsible for weekend deliveries.
CPO window hours (Main CPO):
Monday - Thursday, 9:00am-3:45pm
Friday, 9:00am-3:30pm
Saturday, 10:00am-noon. Package pick-up only.
The Graduate Student Services office also sells stamps during office hours.
