Yoo Joins Psychology Faculty at Wheaton College
Dr. Hana Yoo recently joined the Wheaton College faculty as Assistant Professor of Marriage & Family Therapy.
Yoo is a graduate of Chongshin University in Seoul, Korea, where she earned a B.A. in Theology. She completed an M.A. in Marriage and Family Counseling at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Science (specializing in Couples and Family Therapy) from the Ohio State University.
Previously, Yoo served as a clinical intern and couples and family therapist-in-training at the Ohio State University Couples and Family Therapy Clinic.
Her research interests and experience include couple relationship processes in couple therapy. Yoo’s work has been published in the Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy and the Journal of Youth & Adolescence.
“I am most attracted to Wheaton’s reputation for academic excellence and passion for sharing God’s love through community outreach,” Yoo says. “In addition, Wheaton seems to be the perfect place where I, as a family researcher and therapist, can serve distressed individuals and families within a vibrant and supportive Christian community.”
“Dr. Yoo brings a very articulate Christian faith and clinical experience,” says Wheaton College provost Dr. Stanton Jones. “She is a strong researcher, and will provide expertise in that area, as well.”
