Bingham Joins Biblical and Theological Studies Faculty at Wheaton College
Dr. D. Jeffrey Bingham recently joined the Wheaton College faculty as Associate Dean of Biblical and Theological Studies and Professor of Theology.
Previously, Bingham served as the Department Chair and Professor of Theological Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary for 10 years. He has also served as Assistant Dean for Theological Studies and Professor of Historical Theology at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Bingham is a graduate of New Mexico State University and Dallas Theological Seminary, where he received a Th.M. and Ph.D.
Bingham’s academic specialties include Patristic Theology, Second-Century Christianity, Irenaeus, and the study of early Christianity. Bingham also has extensive international experience, having lived in various regions including Europe, Latin America, Africa and Southeast Asia.
“Wheaton College is committed to imparting truth and wisdom to its students by means of a liberal arts education. It believes such virtues can be transmitted only as one participates in the mind of Christ within a community dedicated to the ‘faith once for all delivered to the saints,’” Bingham says. “I share Wheaton's commitments and am deeply honored at the prospect of serving the members of its community.”
“Dr. Bingham is a seasoned administrator and a solid historical theologian specializing in Patristic theology, which he has been contributing to for a long time,” says Wheaton College provost Dr. Stanton Jones. “We have great confidence that he provides great leadership for the Biblical and Theological Studies department.”
