Wheaton College Homecoming October 7 and 8

Alumni from the graduating classes of 1986, 1991, 1996, 2001, and 2006 will be back on campus to visit their alma mater during Wheaton College’s 2011 Homecoming Weekend Friday, October 7 and Saturday, October 8. Special reunion events are planned to give returning alumni the opportunity to reconnect with friends and professors.

The public is welcome to attend the following events:

Wheaton Thunder Sporting Events:

Women’s Volleyball vs. University of Chicago: 5 p.m. Friday, King Arena

Homecoming BBQ: 11 a.m.–1 p.m. Saturday, The Quad
Come and hang out before the football game. Lunch includes an outdoor barbecue, a kids activity area, and lots of blue and orange! Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 5-12, and free for children 4 and under.

Football Game vs. Elmhurst College: 1 p.m. Saturday, McCully Stadium

Women’s Soccer vs. North Park University: 5 p.m. Saturday, Joe Bean Stadium

Men’s Soccer vs. North Park University: 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Joe Bean Stadium

Homecoming Concert – Choral Showcase: 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Edman Memorial Chapel

The Conservatory Concert features the Wheaton College Concert Choir, Men’s Glee Club, and Women’s Chorale. Tickets are available at the door: $10 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, and free for children 18 and under.

The Wheaton College Alumni Association will honor Mr. Don Meyer '57 with the Distinguished Service to Alma Mater award for his longtime generosity to Wheaton through time, talent, and treasure. Meyer was elected to the Wheaton College Board of Trustees in 1987 and served for 23 years. He is past owner and president of the Baillie Lumber Company (BLCO) of Hamburg, NY, the largest hardwood lumber company in the United States.
