Exhibit Commemorates the 400th Anniversary of the King James Bible
The Archives & Special Collections of Buswell Memorial Library has mounted a new exhibit, titled “Out of
Sacred Tongues: Celebrating the 400th Anniversary of the King James Bible.” Drawing upon its rare book holdings, the exhibit highlights original and facsimile volumes that tell the story of the creation of the English Bible that culminates with the King James Bible. The exhibit contains original texts that date from 1517 to 1919 and includes items representing the Protestant and Catholic traditions.
The exhibit is on display through December 2011. The Wheaton College Archives & Special Collections is located on the third floor of the Billy Graham Center, at 501 College Avenue in Wheaton, and is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Fridays and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
