School Year Adventures

HoneyRock adventures aren't limited to the summer. We offer outdoor skills courses throughout the year. During these courses, you can experience HoneyRock while earning credit hours outside of scheduled class days.

Courses Offered at HoneyRock:

  • Equestrian: An introduction to horseback riding using the western-style of riding to develop a balanced seat, with an emphasis on therapeutic applications
  • Cross Country Ski: Introduction to flat, uphill, and downhill cross-country classic skills such as diagonal striding and double-poling and freestyle skating. Equipment, waxing, conditioning, and winter safety will be addressed.
  • Downhill Ski: Basic through intermediate skills related to parallel skiing including PSIA ski instruction and videotaping
  • Rock Climbing: Introductory climbing class will cover knots, belay techniques, and other introductions to the basics of climbing both on a wall and in Devils Lake State Park
