About Luis
Originally from Mexico, I moved to Michigan when I was 8 years old and grew up primarily in the suburbs of Detroit. I attended college at Central Michigan University where I studied sound production, photography, and graphic design.
While I am blessed to have been raised a Christian by my parents since birth, it wasn't until college when I began to seriously explore my faith. Through my leadership involvements, I met some people whose lives had been profoundly changed and who showed unique compassion and understanding. This was enough to entice me to explore my faith through a campus ministry where I attended until I graduated.
It was through my connections in this ministry that I stumbled upon Christian camping, and eventually HoneyRock. My favorite part about HoneyRock is being able to put my skills to use for a ministry that builds young people's confidence, awareness, and faith. I get the best of both worlds — working at a camp and a campus, and I enjoy meeting and getting to know people both at Wheaton and at HoneyRock.
