My journey to HoneyRock began in Lakeland, Florida where I was born and grew up. Beaches, the Everglades, and backpacking trips around the south slowly grew in me a passion for the outdoors. After spending a few months hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2011, I was convinced of the power of the outdoors to change lives. So my time at HoneyRock began in 2012 as a Graduate Apprentice hosting winter retreats (snow!) and then working as an AMP counselor, which counsels for the 2:22 and Passage programs.
It was the interplay of my relationship with Jesus and the outdoors that ultimately brought me to HoneyRock though. Having come to own my faith through some significant relationships and ministries while in college, God was ever at work, bringing me to a place where I could loose my life for God’s sake in order to find it. But it took time and much struggle for me to realize the great opportunities that I might find by being obedient to who had made me to be and the opportunities that lay in front of me.
So, it is with great joy that I now find myself as the Retreat Group coordinator at HoneyRock and also working towards a Masters Degree from Wheaton College. Its great to work and live in a place that loves the outdoors, loves Jesus, and loves to see God work in the lives of those who pass through HoneyRock.
