You will be part of a ministry team consisting of approximately 170 paid staff positions who work among the larger community of HoneyRock's student programs, camper programs and full-time staff from early May to mid-August. Positions are available in operations, program areas, kitchen, office, activity area staff, barn, or counseling (See descriptions below). Please email us about employment questions.

SUMMER PROGRAM STAFF
Activity Staff: Activity staff are responsible for the equipment maintenance, area supervision, staff training, and camper instruction in HoneyRock’s activity areas. We hire 16 staff to run the following areas: Archery, Riflery, Mountain Biking, Climbing, Craft Shop, Ceramics, Drama, Wilderness Skills, Canoeing, Sailing, Swimming, Waterskiing (2 positions available), Kayaking and Lifeguarding (2 positions available). This staff serves all programs and guests of HoneyRock. Expertise in the area preferred and/or required as noted. Training is provided to orient staff to HoneyRock and the specifics of your area. Lifeguard certification required and provided on-site for all activity staff.
Adventure Challenge (Ropes Course) Staff: This team runs all of our ropes and challenge course facilities. We currently have two large low ropes courses, one large high ropes course, pamper pole, wild wobbly woozy, and a giant swing. This staff facilitates group experiences in cooperation with counselors and program staff, organizes the facility schedule, and handles daily care and maintenance issues. Rigorous training is provided.
Teaching Wrangler: These 7 staff members are part of the activity staff team. HoneyRock has 26 horses, 1 barn, 2 outdoor riding arenas and miles of trails to serve campers in the summer. Under the guidance of the Ranch Coordinator, teaching wranglers are responsible for running all aspects of our equestrian program including the following: teaching riding skills and techniques, leading trail rides, leading wagon rides, cooking wrangler breakfasts, doing barn maintenance, feeding horses and performing other barn duties. Previous horsemanship experience preferred but not necessary.
Trip Locker Supervisor: This person is involved in equipment preparation and maintenance for wilderness trips. Wilderness camping background, organizational skills, and good communication skills are desired.
Worship Coordinator: This staff person coordinates all camp worship services. This includes Sunday morning services and other all camp events that involve organized worship. The person in this role creates an order for each service, organizes worship teams to lead worship, works with pastors to put together scripture reading, and organizes other elements such as communion, drama, testimony times, etc. This person works behind the scenes to make our services excellent and glorifying to God. Previous worship leading experience preferred.

HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM STAFF
2:22 Program Leader: 2:22 is an intense four-week discipleship program designed to train high school men and women to develop life-long habits for personal growth. The leaders design and implement Bible studies emphasizing discipleship, servanthood and responsibility. They will also lead a two-week wilderness trip at the beginning of the program and will then organize and lead the service opportunities which take place in the local community and in other areas. Previous HoneyRock experience preferred.
Service Team Cabin Leader: The Service Team Program (STP) is for high school students who have previous HoneyRock experience and are ready for a full summer of ministry serving the camp and its campers. Each day students will be assigned to construction projects, maintenance jobs, or grounds work. STP staff members are role models to the High School Service Team. They work alongside the male and female Service Teamers in the care of the physical plant of HoneyRock. Responsibilities also include planning Bible studies and evening activities, being available for one-on-ones and being a mentor to the Service Teamers.

HEALTH CENTER
Nurse (RN): This position is for a Registered Nurse who is willing to work in a ministry capacity as supervisor of the HoneyRock Health Center. He/she will work with the onsite doctor and supervise the nurse assistant and nurse volunteers to provide medical care for campers and students attending camp programming. This role is a seasonal (May-August), full-time paid position (includes overtime pay). This document (PDF) contains more detailed information on this position.
Nurse's Assistant: The Nurse Assistant can be a Registered Nurse or in nursing school. He/she will assist the nurse with meeting the health needs of campers and staff.

OPERATIONS
Autoshop: This individual works directly under the supervision of the Site and Facilities Manager/Transportation Coordinator at HoneyRock. Responsibilities may include vehicle maintenance, administrative support, vehicle sign-outs and other related skills.
Building Maintenance: This individual serves in the area of building and site maintenance. Responsibilities include rough and finish carpentry, furnace and electrical troubleshooting, roofing, plumbing, painting, and other related skills.
Grounds: This individual serves in the area of maintaining HoneyRock’s grounds. Responsibilities include planting flowers and grass, mowing lawns, removing dead trees, and doing trash and recycling pick-up.
Special Projects: This individual serves in different construction projects that the camp undertakes. Responsibilities include rough and finish carpentry, masonry, roofing, painting, and other construction trade skills.

MINISTRY SUPPORT TEAM
Audio/Visual/Tech: This staff person sets up for all events that require audio or visual equipment. This includes worship services and a variety of other large group meetins throughout the summer. No previous A/V experience is necessary. This person will also serve as the help desk / computer support person; computer knowledge will be required. This person will report to the IT Manager.
Beehive: This staff person is responsible for managing the Beehive (the camp store). He/she places orders, stocks merchandise, and works as a cashier.
Housekeeping: Each summer we hire two people to work as housekeepers. They clean all common areas of camp, camper bathrooms, and other facilities used by camp programs and rental guests.
Photography/Video: This person will be responsible for documenting the camp experience in order to effectively tell the HoneyRock story using photography and video for parents, campers, and various other HoneyRock audiences. This person must be flexible and enjoy being in the outdoors, have significant experience in photography and videography, and have an eye for capturing the right moment. This person will be in charge of making the "bus video" in the summer, as well as other video projects during the summer. This person will also work with the receptionist and Marketing Manager on various recurring summer projects involving the visual communication of HoneyRock events through our online channels.
Receptionist: The receptionist works in the office under the supervision of the HoneyRock Office Administrative Assistant. This person is responsible for answering the phone, sorting all staff and camper mail, working with cabin guests, greeting and answering questions for vendors and other constituents, collecting staff time cards and other related tasks.

FOOD SERVICE
Cook: The role of the cook, under the direction of the Food Service Manager, is to follow recipes to prepare high quality, visually-appealing and tasty meals for groups up to 1200. Cooks are responsible to supervise and give direction to kitchen assistants.
Kitchen Assistant: Responsible for assisting the Food Service Manager and cooks in preparing the dining hall for meals, operating the drink room, and performing clean-up duties.
Trip Kitchen Supervisor: This position is responsible for organizing and supervising the packaging and distribution of trip food for all the trips that leave camp.
