Scholarships

There are many scholarships and aid options available to help you finance your graduate education.

Scholarships are determined with your admission offer and usually there is no other application required. If you are selected to receive a scholarship, your scholarship amount will be reflected in your admission letter. You will also be able to verify the amount of the scholarship on the myWheaton portal after you set up your e-mail address.

Institutional funding for full-time, degree-seeking students. Gift aid with no necessary repayment. No FAFSA necessary.

Students who have been registered full-time throughout their program may request a pro-rated scholarship amount for the final semester. They must be enrolled at least half-time and taking credits which will complete their degree. Requests will be considered on an individual basis.

A. Donald MacLeod/Doris Bruns Honorary Scholarship  MA $1,000-$2,500/year Awarded to a full-time MA in History of Christianity student matriculating Fall 2017 and after. 
Frances J. White Scholars in Global Ministry  MA $9,000 to Full Tuition for Two Years

Awarded to MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Marriage & Family Therapy students matriculating Fall 2017 and after.

Awarded to students with need preparing for cross cultural ministry or to international Christian leaders with need returning to their home countries.

Frances J. White Scholarship for Mental Health and Ministry MA  $750-$1,500/year

Awarded to MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Marriage & Family Therapy students.

Awarded to students with need preparing for cross cultural ministry or to international Christian leaders with need returning to their home countries.

Janice Harrison Psychology Scholarship

MA

$1,000-$3,000/year

Awarded to MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Marriage & Family Therapy students.

Awarded to minority students who are US citizens and demonstrate financial need.

Ph.D. Scholarship and Research Fellowship

PhD

Full Tuition and $10,500/year TA stipend

Awarded to all PhD students.

Six students per year.

Psy.D. Scholarship

PsyD

$6,000 or $8,000/year

Awarded to all PsyD students.

  • Amount determined along with admission offer.
  • Must be registered for 10 hrs/semester; maximum 8 semesters. 

Constance Kay Barth Memorial Psychology Scholarship for Women

PsyD

$800-$1,000/year

  • Need based - must complete FAFSA to be eligible.
  • Awarded to mature woman seeking Psy.D. 
  • Amount determined along with admission offer.
  • Must be registered for 10 hrs/semester; maximum 8 semesters.

Burton B. & Eleanor J. Butman Psychology Scholarship

J. Richard & Mary C. Chase Scholarship

Sonneveldt Scholarship

  • Articulated vision for service to the Christian community and to underserved populations.
  • Understands the mission of integration of psychology and Christian faith.

  • Must be registered for 10 hrs/semester; maximum 8 semesters.

Domestic Diversity Scholarship    

PsyD    

$1,000-$3,000/year

  • Evidence strong Christian commitment in word and deed.
  • Demonstrates the capacity for leadership within the context of future service.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to clinical psychology as service.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to practice as a clinical psychologist in a geographic region and/or with a population that has been historically underserved.
  • Must be registered for 10 hrs/semester; maximum 8 semesters.

Global Scholarship    

PsyD    

$2,000-$16,000/year

  • Evidences strong Christian commitment in word and deed.
  • Demonstrates the capacity for leadership within the context of future service.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to clinical psychology as service.
  • Must be an international student who demonstrates a commitment to serve in his/her homeland context.
  • Must be registered for 10 hrs/semester; maximum 8 semesters.

 

Practitioner-Scholar Award

PsyD 

$750-$2,000, one time

  • Be in their final semester on campus.
  • Passed comprehensive exam, PQE and dissertation proposal defense.
  • Be applying for pre-doctoral internship.
  • Have a strong identity as clinical psychologist as evidenced by clinical scholarship and professional affiliation.
  • Must be registered for 10 hrs/semester; maximum 8 semesters.
