TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) is an amazing ministry tool—a bridge into the community and a way to express God’s love by meeting the real and felt needs of those who want to learn English. You want to have a vital and growing TESOL ministry. You want to reach out to the nations. The question is “How can you do this most effectively?”
The Institute for Cross-Cultural Training (ICCT) offers three 30-hour TESOL courses that are designed to meet the practical needs of ESL/EFL teachers and volunteers who have had little or no practical training for teaching English. No prior teaching experience or knowledge of linguistics is assumed. Although these courses can be taken in any order, we suggest beginning with Reach Out with English.
ICCT also offers one-day TESOL workshops. (See our Spring 2017 workshops listed below.) These very practical workshops for ESL/EFL teachers and volunteers will be held on campus at Wheaton College.
Spring 2017 One-Day Workshops
Each workshop provides eight hours of practical instruction on foundational topics for ESL/EFL teachers and volunteers. Along with Basics 101, these two workshops can be combined for a 30-hour Reach Out with English certificate.
- Basics of ESL Teaching 102 (Saturday, March 25, 2017)
- Basics of ESL Teaching 103 (Saturday, April 29, 2017)
