God's Purpose for Business
February 16-18, 2005 “If God calls you to business, don't stoop to becoming a pastor.”1 Business is the institution least used by the evangelical community for the global work of promoting Kingdom values. If committed to stewardship, human dignity, justice, equity, and peace, business can be both profitable and holistic. This conference will bring together entrepreneurs, scholars, development experts, missionaries, and pastors who envision business as a potentially powerful agent in the work of social, spiritual, and economic transformation. Conference Follow-up Business as Mission as a strategic concept views stewardship, business, and work from a holistic perspective for the purpose of encouraging the Kingdom of God on earth. Through the efforts of dedicated practitioners and academics—like those who spoke at the conference—this strategic concept has the potential to empower both churches and the business community to proactively reach millions of people in the least churched/evangelized areas of our world where markets will open and expand. Thank you to all who participated and attended our conference.1 Mats Tunehag, 2004 Forum for World Evangelization, Thailand 2004 Promoting
