January 2006 Meeting

  • Roger Morsch, Director, Single Family Program Originations, Illinois Housing Development Authority. Visit their website for more information on how statewide pool of bond cap revenues can be a market catalyst for developing affordable housing.

  • Deb Olson DuPage Homeownership Center Affordability Task Force presented the DuPage Homestead Program an improved affordability program for low- to moderate-income families who work in and want to live in DuPage County.

 

September 2005 Meeting

  • Mary Ellen Tamasy, Highland Park Illinois Community Land Trust, will discuss how Highland Park developed some innovative solutions to deal with the lack of affordable housing for teachers, firefighters, police officers and others who would like to live in the community where they work.
  • Phil Smith, Director of Community Services, DuPage County, will give an overview of the recently enacted Rental Housing Support bill and some amendments to the Rental Housing Planning and Appeals Act. This amends the municipal and county code to give authority to non-home rule units of government to do creative things to address affordable housing needs.
