Club Sports

The purpose of Wheaton College Club Sports is to provide student-initiated, managed and funded sports opportunities at an intercollegiate level of competition, above that of intramurals and below that of varsity athletics, to Wheaton College students, faculty, staff and their spouses.

Club sports provide the opportunity for students to develop positive Christian attitudes and good sportsmanship through the testing ground of athletic competition. Club sports offer extra-curricular learning experiences for their members through involvement in fundraising, public relations, organization, administration, budgeting and scheduling, as well as the development of skills in their particular sport. Involvement in a group and a team situation helps enhance the student's overall education while at college.

The Wheaton College Club Sports purpose supports the vision of the Athletic Department and the overall mission of the college.

Wheaton College Thunderettes

New in 2008-2009, Poms introduced a new outlet for girls who love to dance and perform. With 14 girls on the squad in the first year, Poms performed 3 different routines during half-times of Wheaton basketball games and received overwhelming support from the student body. We are so excited for our second season as a squad, and hope for the team to grow in number. We love being able to show how dance can be used as a way to glorify God with the talents He has given us!
