Application Deadlines

College of Arts and Sciences

Freshman Applicants are those students who have not yet graduated from high school, regardless of the number of college credits earned. College coursework is evaluated after acceptance. Freshman applicants are also those who, at the time of application, have graduated from high school but have earned less than 15 semester hours of post-high school college credit. Freshmen applicants may only apply for fall semester admission, and may choose to apply during either the Early Action or Regular Action admission round.

• Early Action is for those students who wish to receive an early, non-binding admissions decision. The application deadline for Early Action is November 1, and applicants receive admissions notification by December 31st. An Early Action applicant may be accepted for admission, denied admission, or have the admission decision delayed until April, when Regular Action round decisions are made. Students accepted in the Early Action round have until May 1 to make their final enrollment decision. A $300 deposit (non-refundable after May 1) confirms enrollment.
• Regular Action is for those candidates who submit their application after November 1 or who received a delayed decision in the Early Action round. The application deadline for Regular Action is January 10; applicants receive a decision (accept, deny, or wait list) by April 1st. As with Early Action, students granted admission must inform the College of their enrollment decision by May 1. Students placed on the waiting list have the possibility of being admitted in the summer. All accepted students who desire to enroll must deposit $300 (non-refundable after May 1).

Transfer Applicants are those students who, at the time of application, have graduated from high school and completed 15 post-graduation semester hours or more of college credit at an accredited institution and will have completed a full year of college (30 semester hours) before the time of enrollment at Wheaton College. Transfers may apply for the fall or spring semester. Transfer students who wish to enroll for the fall semester must apply by March 1st and will receive an admission decision beginning April 1st. Transfers applying for the spring semester must submit their application by October 1st and will receive an admissions decision beginning November 1st.

Applications and all supporting documents are due to Wheaton College by the application deadline dates. We will acknowledge the receipt of your application by mail. When all supporting documents have been received, we will notify you by email or mail that your application is complete. Please contact the Admissions Office if you do not receive notification within three weeks of submitting your application to us. If the application is submitted online, confirmation of receipt should be received in 7-10 business days.
