M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy Admissions Requirements

Admission to the M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy requires evaluation of the total applicant pool.

2. Bachelor's Degree from a Regionally Accredited Institution.

3. Minimum GPA 3.0.

4. Twelve Credit Hours of Prerequisites (see below).

  • Preview the new GRE General Test >> 
  • International students: Submit either the TOEFL (with TWE and TSE) or the IELTS instead of the GRE.
  • Paper -based TOEFL minimum: 600.
  • Internet-based TOEFL minimum: 100

8. Official Transcripts from all previous colleges or universities attended.

9. Four Recommendations.

  • Academic
  • Pastoral (or other Christian leader)
  • Professional (employer)
  • Mental Health Professional (practicing therapist, MFT or Psychology professor with doctorate)

13. Application Processing Fee: $30, non-refundable.

  • 3 hours (1 course) in research methods, research design, or statistics
  • 6 hours (2 courses) in family studies, psychology or allied field
  • 3 hours (1 course) in Human Development
