- First year grad student studying in any MA program EXCEPT Clinical Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy or Counseling Ministries.
- Preference give to student with financial need.
- Plans to enter ministry among American underprivileged minority groups (e.g. African-American, Hispanic, American-Indian)
- OR Ministry to poor in America (e.g. urban homeless and poor, the rural Southern poor)

- Can be enrolled part-time or full-time.
- Urban = Community that has (1) ethnicity, (2) density of population, and (3) low-income status. The location of the community does not have to be inner-city.
- Payback of principle plus interest if not returning to urban ministry.
- BGC application deadline: March 1 prior to fall enrollment, Sept 15 prior to spring enrollment
