Student Accounts Online Billing

Student Accounts will begin using an online bill notification and payment center beginning July 2016. Students can securely access their billing and payment information through the Wheaton Portal.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Electronic bills reduce paper waste
  • Convenient access to payment information
  • Students can set up authorized users (such as parents) to view and make payments
  • Ability to make credit or debit payments

Impact on College Community

Students will no longer receive paper bills. Instead, students can securely access their billing and payment information through the Wheaton Portal.

Students can expect an email from Student Accounts with further information and instructions.

Summer Classroom Technology Updates

Effective Date: Summer 2016

During the summer of 2016, we updated the technology in the following classrooms:

  • Billy Graham Center 130, 255, M229, and 309
  • Blanchard 139, 223, and 324
  • Buswell 133
  • Fischer 238
  • Memorial Student Center 120, 122, and 124
  • Meyer Science Center 255 and 355
  • Pierce 102, 104, and 108
  • Schell 202

Depending on each room, these upgrades include new furniture and displays and updated computers. Check room details in 25Live to view the specifications of each room (link only available on campus).

To allow greater flexibility and personalization, there will no longer be classroom computers in Schell 202, BGC 255 and BGC M229. These classrooms will still have display monitors, Apple TVs, and document cameras installed, and presenters can connect and display their laptops.

These changes were reviewed by the Technology and Information Resources subcommittee, the faculty Technology @ Wheaton governance group.

New URL for Updated Wheaton Portal

We’re pleased to announce the new Wheaton Portal, formerly known as the myWheaton Portal.

The Wheaton Portal is located at portal.wheaton.edu.* Sign in with your network username and password and update any bookmarks you have.

During a required security update, we took the opportunity to work with the newly-formed Enterprise Portal Coordination Committee to begin improvements to the portal. We welcome your feedback as we continue making improvements in the coming months.

  • Improved security | The Wheaton Portal will have greater security to help keep your personal information safe.
  • Better communication | Better communication through consolidated campus announcements and an up-to-date event feed.
  • Easier access | The Wheaton Portal gives you easier access to resources and web applications with single sign-on and an updated user interface.

Impact on College Community

  • Sign in to the Wheaton Portal at portal.wheaton.edu. Starting July 13, the myWheaton Portal URL will redirect you to this page. Update any bookmarks with the outdated URL.
  • Some links within the Wheaton Portal will only be available from on-campus. Connect using VPN in order to access all resources within the portal.
  • myWheaton will now exclusively refer to student Google accounts, which use the format firstname.lastname@.my.wheaton.edu.

*The full Wheaton Portal URL begins with https://mycas.wheaton.edu. The shortened URL portal.wheaton.edu brings you to a page with the full URL.

Updates to College-Owned Macs

Effective Date: Summer 2016

During the summer of 2016, we will make some changes to College-owned Macs. In order to enable further updates to Macs and increase the efficiency of our campus network, we will add Macs to the College domain. User accounts on Macs will now be connected to your network account.

Key Benefits and Features

  • You will be able to log in to your Mac with your network username and password. Your computer password will automatically change when you change your network password
  • Easily install and use network printers.
  • Update your Mac OS.

Impact on College Community

This update will take approximately 30 minutes. You will not be able to use your computer during the update, but you can schedule an appointment for a time convenient to you.

Sharepoint Retirement and Website Relocations

We will discontinue Wheaton College's SharePoint license in July 2016 in order to use College resources more effectively. Websites that were previously located on public.share.wheaton.edu will now be located elsewhere.
