Installation of Phones in Conference and Seminar Rooms

Beginning in May, we will install phones in every conference and seminar room on campus.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Provides an easy way to do audio conferencing
  • Allows for emergency notifications in rooms that do not currently have phones

Impact on College Community

Beginning in April, we will contact departments who own or supervise a conference or seminar room to discuss the installation of the phone(s).

The phone model we are providing is the Cisco 7811, which includes a built-in speakerphone that can be used for audio conferencing. Departments can purchase a different model of phone for us to install if they would like.

25Live Unavailable During Maintenance

Effective Date: April 13, 2017

On April 13, we will be upgrading 25Live, our campus scheduling system, and 25Go, our campus vehicle reservation system. During the upgrades, you will not be able to access 25Live or 25Go.

  • Adds additional features

Impact on College Community

On April 13, from 4:30 to 8:30pm, during the upgrade, you will be unable to access 25Live or 25Go.

Retiring Servers

Effective Date: April 7, 2017

As part of our project to replace an outdated and inflexible system, we will permanently retire the Novell server Timothy on April 7.

Key Features and Benefits

The outdated system will be replaced by ThunderCloud Storage group shares. More information about the features and benefits of group shares can be found here.

Impact on College Community

We will assist departments in replacing the existing network shared drive.

Network Unavailable in Meyer Science Center and Billy Graham Center During Maintenance

Effective Date: April 8, 2017

On April 8 starting at 11pm, we will perform network maintenance to improve network performance in two campus buildings. During maintenance, there will be a network disruption affecting the Meyer Science Center and the Billy Graham Center.

Key Features and Benefits

Network connections in the Meyer Science Center and the Billy Graham Center are being reconfigured to improve network performance and reliability.

Impact on College Community

On April 8 from 11pm to 2am, the Meyer Science Center and the Billy Graham Center will be intermittently unable to access the wireless network.

Network Maintenance

Effective Date: April 7, 2017

On April 7 at 8:30 AM, we will perform scheduled maintenance on our campus network. During this time, you will not be able to register new devices to the network.

Key Features and Benefits

This maintenance ensures greater reliability for campus internet security.

Impact on College Community

Starting at 8:30am on April 7, you will be unable to register new devices to the campus network or switch VLANs. We expect the outage to last about fifteen minutes.
