Why is there a hold on my registration?
There can be many reasons for a registration hold to be placed on your name. If you look at your account on BannerWeb, you can see what the hold is for and who placed it on you.
What is a candidacy hold and how can it be removed?
Candidacy is an academic term that is noted on your transcript and appears in the semester when you have met the conditions for receiving candidacy status and means we recognize you are a candidate to receive the master's degree upon completion of the degree requirements.
A candidacy hold is placed on every degree-seeking student before registering for any credits beyond 12 and means that you must complete an outline of your degree program and have your adviser sign it before submitting it to me before you may register for additional credits.
You can get the outline at Candidacy Forms.
What should I do if I want to stay at Wheaton for another degree?
If you are an MA student and wish to do another MA, there is a form available in the Graduate Admissions Office or on our website that is an abbreviated version of an application that you will need to complete and submit to Graduate Admissions. If you are applying for a doctoral program, you must complete a completely new and expanded application for admission and should contact Graduate Admissions.
I am suppose to be graduating this semester, but my name is not on the Graduation List on the board. What should I do?
You should see Rita Gjeldum to find out why your name is not there.
My name appears on the Graduation List but it is crossed off. Why?
Names that appear on the list and are crossed off are missing an Application for Degree. You cannot graduate unless you file an Application for Degree with the Registrar's Office.
I want to participate in Commencement in May but how much does it cost?
There is no cost to the graduate to participate in Commencement.
I am graduating in December and want to participate in the December Recognition Ceremony. What's that?
Recognizing that our graduate students have prepared for ministry in many places around the world, we hold the December Recognition Ceremony for those graduating students that will not be near Wheaton in May for Commencement. The Recognition Ceremony is intended to be a time when we can honor our graduates in a more intimate setting and in a more personal way. It is always the Friday evening of the week before finals week and we assemble in Barrows Auditorium. Contact Christy Peters at 630-752-5191 if you would like to be a part of this ceremony.
How can I get my transcript?
There is a federal law called the Family Rights and Privacy Law, that requires your written consent for your official transcripts to be released. You must send a written (not emailed or telephoned) request to the Registrar's Office that includes your signature to obtain your official records. You may request as many copies of your Wheaton College transcript as you want, and there is no charge for official transcripts.

If you do not need an official transcript, you may also print your academic history from your BannerWeb account. Be aware, though, that it will not include some very important information such as the title of your degree, the date it was conferred, or your GPA.
