About John Armstrong
John H. Armstrong is a former pastor and church-planter, of more than twenty years, and the author/editor of twelve books. He has written hundreds of magazine, journal and Web-based articles and is a prolific blogger at www.johnharmstrong.com. He has been the president of ACT 3, a ministry committed to equipping leaders for unity in Christ’s mission, since 1991.
John is a seminar and conference speaker, an itinerant preacher and evangelist and has mentored scores of leaders personally. He has been a guest lecturer at a number of colleges and seminaries both in America and abroad. Much of his published material, as well as a number of audio and video resources, can be found at www.acat3online.com and www.yourchurchistoosmall.com. A widely read student of mission and culture John is a prolific writer who devotes a large amount of his time to writing for the church.
John and Anita, his wife of forty years, have two adult married children. Their son Matthew is a Wheaton College graduate (B.A. and M.A.) and is engaged in a ministry of discipleship and church planting, while their daughter Stacy (Elmhurst, B.A.) is the administrative assistant for ACT 3. John and Anita have two grandchildren.
John’s hobbies include baseball (Atlanta Braves), college football (Alabama Crimson Tide), reading, film and walking. John and Anita have a special place in their heart and home for their miniature dachshund, Neo.
