About Jeffrey Greenman
I serve as Associate Dean with responsibility for giving leadership to the faculty and programs in Biblical and Theological Studies. I approach this role with a strong sense of God’s call to academic administration, which I see as shaping the educational context so that great things can happen when faculty and students work together, both inside and outside the classroom. As a seminary student, I had the opportunity to assist the school’s President in the full scope of his work, ranging from fundraising and faculty policies to curricular changes and student recruitment. I became fascinated with the challenges of academic leadership, and realized that God was leading me into this form of ministry. The intersection of scholarship, leadership and the church’s ministry is where I knew I would belong. What I find most rewarding in this form of ministry is the experience of community. Scholarship often is an isolated pursuit, but Christian education is always communal, the collaborative undertaking of men and women with a shared vision for life and learning in God’s service. Along the way I have become convinced that leadership begins with listening and is rooted in relationship. In theological terms, I see my role as an administrator and teacher as an expression of the church’s equipping ministry (Eph. 4:11). My passion is to see God’s people “biblically rooted and theologically formed” so that they grow as faithful participants in the Kingdom mission of Jesus, bearing witness to the Gospel in word and deed in every sphere of society and in every corner of the globe.
