Hannah Dagenhart served in Cajamarca, Peru this summer alongside a missionary family from her home church in NC. Hannah worked with short term volunteer teams that came in from the US. Each week looked different and depending on the particular strength of the team. Some served by holding medical clinics in remote mountain areas, others brought VBS lessons to youngsters in nearby churches, and some teams worked to help with flood relief through construction or delivering donations to families in need. Hannah enjoyed sharing the Word at a women's conference as well as encouraging the believers in Peru. She spoke with students on the local college campus, starting spiritual conversations and discussions.
It was a full and fun summer where she learned first-hand what a missionary’s life looked like by living with a family of six. In her free time Hannah would go with the kids to the local skate park where the kids showed off their skateboarding skills. There were also a few pizza nights (with pepperonis sent in from the States) and a Lord of the Rings marathon spanning many nights. Fellowship and building relationships both with the missionary family as well as local Peruvians and mission teams was the goal of the summer. Great ministry moments popped up as well when the mothers of the children who attended Wednesday Bible study came for a women’s conference and volleyball match! The Lord was and will continue to be glorified in Peru!
