TESOL Certificate

The Professional Certificate in TESOL is a viable alternative for students who prefer a shorter, more concentrated program of study, and can be earned by taking 24 credit hours of specialized TESOL courses.

Why get a TESOL Certificate?

The TESOL Certificate can be earned along with one of the other M.A. degrees offered at Wheaton College (such as the M.A. in Teaching) to provide a solid foundation for using TESOL in conjunction with the student's career goals.

For students who have already earned an elementary, middle, or secondary teaching certificate, the Certificate in TESOL meets all of the requirements for an ESL endorsement for approval in the state of Illinois and most other states. The ESL endorsement is highly competitive on the job market for positions in K-12 education. Plase visit ESL Endorsement for further information.
