The Summers-Only Format is a 40 credit hour program that offers the required TESOL coursework in a three-year cycle each June and July, with the option of taking up to 5 years to complete the M.A. These classes are taught in an intensive format (classes are one to three weeks long) on the Wheaton College campus for students who want to continue working in their current position throughout the year.
Two courses are offered in June in a three-week layered format with one course in the morning and the second in the afternoon. The July format is varied, including both a layered format and one-week intensives focusing on a single course.
The schedules for June and July are available several years in advance to aid students in their program planning. For information on summer courses, please review the summer session information site.
Students may choose to take all of the required 40 credit hours on campus during their Summers-Only program or have the option of taking up to 8 hours through distance learning courses and will work with an advisor to plan out their 40 credit program.
Due to the intensity of this program and the short time in which students are on campus, it is important that you order text books and provide the required health and insurance information in a timely manner.
New students will recieve information by email on how to register for classes using the my.wheaton portal. Continuing students will register through the my.wheaton portal. Students who missed a semester, missed the registration cut-off date and non-degree seeking students need to use a special registration form (PDF) to register for classes. Please review the summer registration and summer session pages for detailed information on summer session and an updated summer course schedule.
