The Wheaton College Science Station serves as the residential base camp for the Geology Program's bi-yearly Field Camp. A core component of any geology program, Wheaton College's Field Camp provides majors with experience in field methodology and regional geology studies. Mapping exercises based on local geologic features give students the opportunity to synthesize their knowledge of rocks and minerals with structural and stratigraphic concepts to gain a thorough understanding of the regional geology in the Black Hills area.
