Wheaton in England 2012

Course Offerings

Wheaton-in-England is not just for English majors.  It is open to all college students, regardless of their area of specialization.  Non-Wheaton students who share Wheaton's Christian commitment are welcome to participate.  Students may enroll for 8 or 10 hours of credit.  The courses offered meet both general education requirements and also English major requirements. In addition to the regular courses, the program offers students the opportunity to hear lectures by distinguished British scholars.

  • Literature 334  Shakespeare (4 hours) - Dr. Ryken
  • Literature 355  Romantic Literature  (4 hours) - Dr. Ryken
  • Literature 331  Medieval Literature   (4 hours) - Dr. Coolidge
  • Literature 431  Arthurian   (2 hours) - Dr. Coolidge
  • Advanced Level Writing  (available as needed -2 hours) - Dr. Coolidge

Costs

The estimated cost of the program is $8200. This fee covers airfare, tuition, room and board on Wheaton's campus and in Oxford, housing in London and on excursions, group admission to literary and historical sites, and ground transportation with the group throughout England.  Students must add the cost of books, personal expenses, admission to individually selected events in London, noon and evening meals in London and noon meals on excursions.  Costs will be less for students who do not stay on Wheaton's campus during the first two weeks of the program.
