About Timothy Yontz
Timothy Yontz has conducted The Wheaton College Symphonic Band since 2007, and is Associate Professor of Music Education for the Conservatory of Music at Wheaton College, teaching music education courses and conducting. Before joining the faculty at Wheaton College, Dr. Yontz served as Associate Director of Bands at the University of Nebraska at Omaha for six years, and Director of Bands and Coordinator of Fine Arts in Wisconsin and Indiana public schools for seventeen years. While in Omaha, he was Music Director of the Nebraska Wind Symphony, Omaha’s Community Concert Band. Dr. Yontz holds a Ph.D. in Music Education from the University of Nebraska, Master of Music from Butler University, and Bachelor of Music Education from Indiana University. He is a member of the College Band Directors National Association, National Association for Music Education, Phi Beta Mu International School Bandmaster Fraternity, and is a recipient of the National Band Association’s “Citation of Excellence.” He is active nationally as a guest conductor, clinician, and festival adjudicator (www.timothyyontz.com).
