About Jake Muzzy
Jake Muzzy began the study of cello at four years of age. He has won distinction in competitions such as the Masterworks Festival Concerto Competition, the National Federation of Music Clubs Student Auditions and the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. He studied with Carol Ourada in Wheaton and Hans Jorgen Jensen at Northwestern University before taking his Masters from the Cleveland Institute of Music under the tutelage of Stephen Geber. He held the position of Principal Cellist of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra before moving to West Chicago. He teaches at the Masterworks Festival during the summer and performs with his wife, Hannah, as "51 Strings" a duo for harp and cello.
