Students in Art History are initially given a broad overview of the history of art, examining both art and architecture from ancient times up to present. As their subject matter expands, students learn to use a variety of art historical study methods, and are given the opportunity to delve further into specific areas of study.
The Art History concentration incorporates the vibrant art and architecture that can be found in the Chicago area, and makes use of cross disciplinary courses, and the active studio environment of Adams Hall, to cultivate understanding of both the historical and cultural contexts that are required to examine a work.
